Grafana Dashboards allow you to transform your data into visually compelling and insightful displays. This guide will walk you through the fundamental steps to create your first dashboard and start exploring your data with Grafana.

From your Logit.io dashboard choose the Launch Metrics button in the top right of the screen, or choose Launch under the Infrastrastructure Metrics > Services.

This will launch the Grafana viewer for your stack shown below.

Now in the left menu choose Dashboards and select + New Dashboard as shown below. The dashboard page lets you create useful graphs and visualisations for displaying your data depending on your requirements.

From here you can choose to add a new empty panel.

This brings up the Edit Panel screen shown below, where you can customise the data displayed. Depending on the data that you are shipping to Logit.io you will need to select a Metric and Label as shown below, then choose Run Query to preview what the new panel will look like.

Choose Apply to add this new panel to the dashboard. You can continue to add panels to the dashboard to build out the dashboard depending on your requirements.

Panel Placement: Arrange your panels on the dashboard canvas as desired. Drag and drop to create the required layout.

Naming and Annotations: Label your panels and use annotations to provide context and insights to viewers.

Ensure that you save your dashboard to preserve your work, click the disk icon in the upper-right corner, name and then click the "Save" button.

Congratulations! You've successfully created your first dashboard for Infrastructure Metrics. Your data is now at your fingertips, ready to be transformed into compelling visual narratives.
